We’ve gotten used to Glen Davis being the hero for the Celtics, but Stephon Marbury? The two combined to score 22 of Boston’s 31 in the fourth as they came back from a 14 point deficit to win it 92-88 and take the lead in the series, 3-2.
With 5:39 left on the clock the Magic led by 10, 85-75. Boston scored the next 13 points and grabbed the lead 88-85 and carry on for the win. Of course we couldn’t go without the usual ref controversy. As the Celtics lead 86-85 Rajon Rondo seemed to air-ball a three point shot and have the shot clock expire, but the refs said the ball touched the rim. Your call guys, cause it’s too hard for me to said.
Stan Van Gundy said later – You’re playing Boston. They’re the defending champions. That’s the way it is. … They all watch boxing. You’re in the 12th round against the champ. You can’t be thinking, ‘I’m going to put it in the hands of the judges.’ You can’t do that. You got to knock them out.
Glen Davis scored 22, Paul Pierce 19, Ray Allen scored 13 and Marbury added 12 from the bench, all in the fourth. Rajon Rondo had a bad game, scoring only 6 but still getting 9 boards and 5 assists. Kendrick Perkins had 11 boards and did a great job on Howard (With help), despite an injured shoulder.
The Magic? Howard did grab 17 rebounds, but only scored 12 points. Rashard Lewis scored 19 and Hedo Turkoglu scored 18 but like we’ve said before, this team lives and dies on three point shots. They shot 6 of 24 from long range, only 25%, as Lewis, Turkoglu and Redick combined for 2 of 13.
Are Boston on their way to meet the Cavs? If Orlando can’t find a way to protect their leads and finish off in the fourth, that will be the case.
