The memes following the New England Patriots winning Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams were “torn” between subjects, among them just how bad the biggest sporting event of the year was.
A measly 16 points were scored in the Pats’ 13-3 win. While some may try to tell you this had to do with superb defense, that’s ignoring the fact that the offenses, especially the Rams side of the story, choked. Jared Goff was destroyed by the Patriots pass rush, his head coach never reacted, and Goff really looked like someone who doesn’t belong at this stage.
Tom Brady? He’s usually not that good in Super Bowls, not for a whole game at least. He threw an early interception and leaned heavily on Julian Edelman to bail him out. But he made things happen when it mattered and most importantly, added a 6th Super Bowl ring to his fine collection.
This wasn’t a fun Super Bowl to watch for neutral fans, and especially not for Rams fans, but it did what many expected it to: Further cement the legacy of Brady & the Patriots as the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL.
