Two years ago, it was Croatia who beat England 4-3 at Wembley and kept the English team out of Euro 2008. England began their qualifying campaign with an impressive win in Croatia, and completed their revenge with a crushing win over Bilic’s side, 5-1, at Wembley. Frank Lampard opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a penalty kick. Steven Gerrard made it 2-0 in the 18th minute, finishing a cross with his head. Frank Lampard opened the second half scoring with a 59th minute header of his own. Steven Gerrard made it 4-0 in the 66th minute and Wayne Rooney gave England their fifth goal 13 minutes from time. Eduardo Da Silva scored Croatia’s only goal.

With eight wins in eight games, Fabio Capello’s side has clinched it’s 2010 World Cup spot and 9 months before it begins, are clearly one of the favorites alongside Spain and Brazil to win it in South Africa.
