Manchester United do it to Tottenham again. A first minute goal from Jermain Defoe, his fifth of the season, didn’t help the home side as Manchester United turned the tables and finished the first half on top. Ryan Giggs with a beautiful free kick and Anderson put them ahead. In the second half Tottenham tried, getting a couple of nice saves and hitting the post as well, but Wayne Rooney on the other side was the one to score, also his fifth of the season. This win will probably silence many United & Ferguson critics about their ability to defend their title this season, while Tottenham got a wake up call about their ability to play with the big boys, at least right now.
Spurs are no longer perfect, and have a visit to the number one team, Chelsea, in a London derby, while United have a derby match of their with another perfect team, Manchester City next week.
