It’s quite possible that J.J. Barea is one of the best in the NBA when it comes to getting under one’s skin, and he certainly did with Ray Allen in the game between the Miami Heat and the Minnesota Timberwolves, causing Allen to lose his cool for the wrong reasons.
In terms of a team contest, it wasn’t really fair – the Miami Heat went on to win their 15th consecutive game, beating the sinking Timberwolves 97-81, with Allen scoring 13 points off the bench. Barea himself had a very rough night with 1-11 from the field, scoring only 4 points.
As Allen was backing up towards the basket way beyond the three point line, he seemed to hit Barea with a forearm or elbow, going unnoticed by the referee. Instead of getting on with it, Allen almost ignited a brawl for not liking the over physical play on him. Barea got ejected after the shove and left the court calling Allen a f%$%^&% pussy.
