How big of a game was it for Ricky Rubio and the Minnesota Timberwolves? They beat the San Antonio Spurs by 24 points, while Rubio grabbed his first career triple double. He also added his own dose of flair by pulling of a double behind the back dribble before scoring a layup.
Wins are a rarity for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, not to mention big wins, over excellent teams. But the San Antonio Spurs were playing without Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, and lost 107-83 to the Wolves, who are about finding the players that will lead them next season, next to Kevin Love and Rubio.
Rubio, besides his showtime antics, finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists, improving to 9.2 points and 7.3 assists, showing us that the injury that kept him out of the first couple of months this season and limited his production during the early stages of his comebacks is bothering him no more.
