Week 4 of the 2010 College Football season blew by, and here’s a taste from yesterday’s action, in pictures.

Alabama 24, Arkansas 20

It wasn’t easy, but the national champions and the number team in the nation improved to 4-0, thanks to a lot of Mark Ingram (Game winning TD + 157 yards) and Robert Lester’s interception that setup that winning touchdown.

Ohio State 73, Eastern Michigan 20

Terrelle Pryor found Dane Sanzenbacher in the end zone four times and ran for another touchdown himself as the Buckeyes scored 73, their highest since 1950, crushing a team that has lost their last 16 games and were 44.5 point underdogs before the game.

Boise State 37, Oregon State 24

Another statement game, the biggest game in Idaho sports history, as dubbed by some. Boise State weren’t great, but any win against a top 25 team is welcome, and QB Kellen Moore led the Broncos with 3 passing touchdowns and 288 yards, improving to 3-0 this season with their second win over a top 25 team.

UCLA 34, Texas 12

Thirteen years after their last (and memorable) visit to Austin, UCLA beat, and beat hard, the Longhorns, who were exposed time and time again for their offensive and defensive weaknesses, a week before the Oklahoma game. Tailback Johnathan Franklin starred for the Bruins, running for 118 yards and scoring a touchdown, with his second consecutive 100+ rushing game against a top 25 opponent. For Texas, it was their first home loss since 2007 against Kansas State and their lowest scoring home game since 2006, a 12-7 loss to A&M.

Oklahoma 31, Cincinnati 27

Oklahoma had to survive another fourth quarter surge from their opponents, bud did enough during the first three quarters to remain perfect before the Texas game while handing the Bearcats their third loss. Sooners QB Landry Jones did throw a late pick that put a lot of pressure on Oklahoma, but also threw for 370 yards and two touchdowns.

Florida 48, Kentucky 14

Trey Burton scored six touchdowns – ran for 5 while catching another as the Gators burned Kentucky, improving to 4-0. Burton is the fourth player in SEC history to score six touchdowns and the first since Auburn’s Cadillac Williams in 2003. Burton’s night was especially remarkable since he only had 5 carries.

Auburn 35, South Carolina 27

Auburn completed another impressive comeback against a South Carolina team (beat Clemson last week), improving to 4-0 like their state rivals while beating the Gamcocks for the fifth straight time. Auburn were led by their massive quarterback, Cameron Newton, who ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 158 and two more.

Arizona 10, California 9

Arizona’s perfect start seemed primed for a bitter end, but with a minute to go, the Wildcats finally created enough spark on offense to muster up a touchdown, as Nick Foles found Juron Criner for the game’s only end zone celebration.

LSU 20, West Virginia 14

Patrick Peterson was the Tigers’ hero in Baton Rouge last night, scoring on a punt return and later blocking a field goal, giving LSU their fourth straight 4-0 start after a very hard fought win over the Mountaineers, who lost for the first time in 2010.
