The unstoppable machine of preseason wins the Minnesota Vikings have become under Mike Zimmer doesn’t stop against the Dallas Cowboys, winning 28-14 behind a perfect performance from Teddy Bridgewater.
No Adrian Peterson, but they’re doing fine without him, going 4-0 in the preseason so far (including the hall of fame game). Bridgewater completed 7-7 for 76 yards, three of those completions to Mike Wallace for 50 yards, the relationship the Vikings are most focused on cultivating on the field.
The first touchdown was scored by Cordarrelle Patterson, the receiver/return man the Vikings are still trying to get more consistency out of, as he made a 107-yard kick return for a touchdown. The other touchdowns came from Joe Banyard and Dominique Williams, both rushing for the score after it was all about the bench players.
The Vikings were perfect in the preseason last year as well but went just 7-9 during the regular season (although that was an improvement to 2013). As impressive as their offense has been in the preseason, it doesn’t really matter until we see them in a “real” game for all four quarters.
