What would be the best way to make the All-Star weekend truly awesome? A one on one night. It would probably be much more interesting than the game itself. The problem is something like a 1 on 1 featuring Kobe, LeBron, Wade and Durant will never happen. Too many egos to be hurt and bruised, but we have a right to dream. Here are ten amazing one on one games we’d love to see if there was justice in the world, with guys of the present and the past. We couldn’t leave out MJ, Magic and Bird from something like this, could we?

LeBron James vs Kevin Durant

Yeah, I know LeBron vs Kobe would probably a bigger crowd draw, but the size mis match is a bit much I think. LeBron is a lot wider than Durant, but pitting the top two Small Forwards and offensive players in the league isn’t that bad, is it?

Dwyane Wade vs Kobe Bryant

We found a place for Bryant, don’t worry. Him dueling with Dwyane Wade isn’t that bad I think. The NBA’s best guard and probably player since Jordan retired (the final retirement) against Miami’s greatest player ever who’s waiting for Kobe to start a significant decline so he can take over as the number one shooting guard in the NBA. Expect Kobe to call for a foul on about every possession.

Deron Williams vs Chris Paul

The best point guards in the NBA during the last three seasons, although they’ve got some tough competition coming from Rondo and D-Rose this season. Still, I’d love to see these two settle once and for all who’s better.

Tim Duncan vs David Robinson

Tim Duncan, yeah. I know he isn’t the most exciting players to watch, but there’s no doubt he’s one of the greatest big men ever and probably the best in history in the Power Forward position. Then there’s Robinson, who wouldn’t have a title if it wasn’t for Duncan. One of the more unique and versatile centers in the history of the NBA. A battle for the crown of San Antonio.

Julius Erving vs Michael Jordan

The greatest player ever began playing basketball when Dr J. was in his final playing days. Out of all the match ups on this list, this soaring combat between these two in their primes would be the absolute best. And somehow, Jordan will find a way to win.

Larry Bird vs Magic Johnson

The two biggest players in the 1980’s, the greatest point guard ever against the greatest small forward ever. No need in explaining this one.

Wilt Chamberlain vs Bill Russell

Two decades earlier, when Giants ruled the earth. Two Titans – The nearly unstoppable Wilt Chamberlain against the only man who could stop him, and also has more title rings than any other NBA player in history. It won’t be flashy or fast, but it should be epic.

Hakeem Olajuwon vs Shaquille O’Neal

Brute force against elegance and smoothness. Shaq always says he admired Olajuwon during his early days in the league, especially after Olajuwon took him to school during the 1995 NBA Finals. Shaq’s combination of speed and strength during the Lakers three-peat are unmatched, probably in the history of the league. There was never a small forward trapped in a Center’s body who played the game so well like Olajuwon.

Steve Nash vs John Stockton

Now we’re getting to the title-less section. There’s no doubt Nash is a much more fun player to watch than Stockton, but I’d love to see these two doing their thing against each other without using what they’re most known for – passing.

Charles Barkley vs Karl Malone

MVP’s without rings. Not too many of them around. We know there’s quite a size difference between these two, but benig under sized never stopped Sir Charles from having an Hall of fame career. It also won’t stop him from beating Karl Malone in a 1 on 1.
