The Miami Dolphins have been the most impressive of the NFL teams with their free agent signing in 2013, but after their draft picks, which included only one offensive lineman from their nine picks, they’re still short of a starter at the left tackle position, with Branden Albert, Bryant McKinnie, Tyson Clabo and Eric Winston making up the shortlist of candidates at the position.

Although most teams around the NFL have already resolved their issues with offensive tackles, there are few jobs left open. Winston Justice, previously of the Indianapolis Colts, is looking for a team, and there’s a good chance that either the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers or even the Miami Dolphins might try and pick him up.

It’s been taking a while, but it looks like the deal that will send Branden Albert via trade from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins for a second round draft pick is well on its way to being completed, with the proximity of the actual 2013 NFL Draft speeding things up.

NFL Rumors – Buffalo Bills Interested in Karlos Dansby
For some linebackers in this league, it’s been about seizing the opportunity before someone else grabs it. Karlos Dansby has been a step too slow so far, missing out on a couple of teams, which moves him on to his next visit, possibly keeping him in the AFC East and eventually playing against his former team, the Miami Dolphins, if he and the Buffalo Bills come to terms.

The Kansas City Chiefs can play coy about their number one draft pick in 2013, but it seems clearer and clearer that it’ll be Luke Joeckel, the left tackle coming out of Texas A&M, while Branden Albert has been getting closer and closer to finding common grounds with the Miami Dolphins about a contract, leading up to a trade between the teams eventually.

NFL Rumors – Miami Dolphins Getting Closer to Branden Albert
At the moment, it seems the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t going to give left tackle Branden Albert a long term deal and might even move him to the right side of the offensive line. Meanwhile, they’re also looking for a team that will take him, allowing the Miami Dolphins to talk to Albert’s agent, in what hopefully will end up being a trade that will benefit all sides.

NFL Rumors – Miami Dolphins Still Want to Sign John Abraham
One of the needs the Miami Dolphins still haven’t addressed is finding a pass-rusher to play off Cameron Wake, and while John Abraham has been somewhat of an option, the team has yet to inform him they’re really interested, but also haven’t ruled out signing him altogether as well.

In a draft that’s all about offensive tackles, especially on the left side of the line, Alabama right tackle D.J. Fluker feels a little bit alone in his specified position, but that doesn’t mean there’s any less interest in him, with the Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins all thinking about spending their first round pick on him.

Being stuck in limbo is never a pleasant feeling, and the Kansas City Chiefs are in risk of alienating Branden Albert, who is somewhat on the trading block after signing a franchise tender. He didn’t show up for the voluntary workouts, the only player on the team to miss them, and wants clarifications, and even better, a commitment from the Chiefs to his future, instead of leaving him in the dark.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a bad year or are carrying an injury or two. There just isn’t enough quality in the NFL to pass on guys like Kevin Kolb, who signed with the Buffalo Bills, or Brent Grimes, who got picked up by the Miami Dolphins, despite the warning signs flashing all over them.
