After scraping through and struggling at home, Barcelona finally let loose to remain perfect in the Spanish La Liga with a 5-0 win over Levante as Lionel Messi did score but once again looked at his best when setting up Neymar and Sandro, while Pedro and Ivan Rakitic scored as well.

Match Highlights – Manchester City vs Chelsea
It seemed the Mike Dean, by wrongly sending off Pablo Zabaleta, ruined the match between Chelsea and Manchester City, as Andre Schurrle took advantage of that decision to give the visitors the lead. But Frank Lampard, coming off the bench, equalized with 10 men and possibly saved this season from being over before the end of September.

Match Highlights – Leicester vs Manchester United
Leading by two goals twice wasn’t enough for a Manchester United team consisting of Angel di Maria, Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie. They still managed to be beaten 5-3 by Leicester in an incredible second half display, led by Jamie Vardy, Ritchie de Laet and Jose Ulloa.

Match Highlights – AC Milan vs Juventus
The difference between contenders and pretenders was revealed, at least for now, as Juventus dominated at the San Siro, leading to a 1-0 win over AC Milan through a clever Carlos Tevez goal thanks to a smart assist from Paul Pogba, leaving the defending champions perfect since the start of the season.

Match Highlights – West Ham vs Liverpool
Something isn’t working for Liverpool so far in the start of the 2014-2015 season, losing 3-1 to West Ham at Upton Park, making it their third defeat in five matches and two losses in a row. For the Hammers, who scored two very early goals through Winston Reid and Diafra Sakho, it was their first home win of the season. Raheem Sterling made things interesting, but Morgan Almafitano scored late to finish all hopes of a comeback.

Match Highlights – Aston Villa vs Arsenal, Deportivo vs Real Madrid
Four minutes of dominance were enough for Arsenal to finally capture a Premier League win, beating Aston Villa 3-0 as the Mesut Ozil – Dannye Welbeck connection worked especially well. Another team bouncing back from a rough time are Real Madrid, destroying Deportivo 8-2 with a hat trick from Cristiano Ronaldo and braces for both Gareth Bale and Javier Hernandez.

Match Highlights – Chelsea vs Schalke, Barcelona vs APOEL
After doing so well since the start of the season, Chelsea are finally held without a win, drawing 1-1 with Schalke, equalizing through Klaas-Jan Huntelaar after an opener from Cesc Fabregas which should have been disallowed. Barcelona didn’t look very impressive once again, but one goal from Gerard Pique in the first half was enough for a 1-0 win over APOEL Nicosia.

Match Highlights – Liverpool vs Ludogorets, Dortmund vs Arsenal
Not the smoothest of returns for Liverpool in the Champions League, but a dramatic finish allowed them to come away with a 2-1 win over Ludogorets, getting a debut goal from Mario Balotelli and an injury time winner by Steven Gerrard. Arsenal crashed and burned in Dortmund, losing 2-0 in an awful performance to the home side with goals from Ciro Immobile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aston Villa once again won at Anfield against Liverpool thanks to a Gabriel Agbonlahor goal in the first half, while Atletico Madrid continued their excellent streak of success against Real Madrid, coming through in the second half with a victory goal from Arda Turan.
