    Not too many changes up the top 25 of College Football through week 10, as Mississippi State and Florida State continue to occupy the top two spots. Below them things change, especially due to Auburn beating Ole Miss. The Tigers are now up to number three, while the Rebels fall down to #12, possibly taking them out of contention for the college football playoffs.

    The only significant in the top 25 after week 9 games have come and gone is Ole Miss falling from number three to number seven due to losing against LSU. Mississippi State and Florida State remain as the top two teams, while two other SEC West teams complete the Final Four at the moment, Auburn and Alabama. Oregon are back in the top 5.

    2014 College Football Season – Week 8 Rankings

    This is an SEC West world with four teams in the top 5: Number one Mississippi State, followed by Ole Miss, Alabama and Auburn, with number two Florida State ruining the sweep. Oregon are the top team from the Pac-12 at number 6 following their win over Washington, Notre Dame didn’t take too much of a hit from their first loss while the Big 12 has just one team in the top 10 with a one loss TCU representing.

    A change at the top as Mississippi State can no longer be ignored, beating Auburn and moving up to the number one spot while Florida State, still undefeated, and moving down one spot. Ole Miss remain at number three, while Baylor and Notre Dame rise one spot each as they remain undefeated and keep on winning. UCLA got knocked out after two consecutive losses, while Clemson and USC are back thanks to narrow victories.

    A weekend of upsets shook the rankings ans the top 25, with Florida State a rock of stability, remaining in the number one spot and gaining strength, while Auburn, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are the big movers for the SEC, joined by Baylor and Notre Dame among the undefeated contenders. On the flip side, USC and LSU fell from the rankings while Oklahoma, Oregon, Alabama, Texas A&M and UCLA took a serious nosedive due to their losses.

    Voters punished ranked teams that lost as both South Carolina and Arizona State were taken out of the top 25, while the only movement a bit higher up the poll came in the form of UCLA, climbing to number eight, while the first seven teams, some of them not playing, stayed where they were, including defending national champions Florida State after another hard earned victory.

    No change among the first seven teams in the top 25 after the games of week 4, but both Mississippi State (after beating LSU) and East Carolina (for winning against North Carolina) make their way into the rankings for the first time this season, while Missouri (for losing against Indiana) and Clemson (for losing to Florida State’s backup quarterback) dropped from the rankings.

    No change in the first five spots of the latest top 25 rankings, meaning Florida State, Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma and Auburn didn’t move whether they played or not, but Georgia fell seven spots after losing to South Carolina, getting a 10-spot surge up the rankings. Virginia Tech and Louisville lost to unranked teams, costing them a spot among the elite, meaning Nebraska and Oklahoma State fill in their place.

BYU, destroying Texas, and Virginia Tech, stunning Ohio State, are newcomers to the top 25 this season.

    There’s no real change in the top of the rankings after the week 1 games, as Florida State and Alabama occupy the top two despite unimpressive wins. Georgia (after beating Clemson) and Texas A&M (defeating South Carolina) are the high risers, scorching their way into the top 10, while Louisville beating Miami made them the only new team in the rankings, coming in instead of an unimpressive Washington team.
