30-30 Club: Multiple Seasons of Home Runs and Stolen Bases

It’s been four years since the last time a player pulled off a 30-30 (home runs & stolen bases) season, and Mike Trout is more or less on pace to finish just around that, which will make him the 14th player in major league baseball history with multiple seasons to induct into the club, which has only four players that have done it three or more times.

  • Mariano Rivera Gets to 600 Saves (Yankees vs Mariners)

Mariano Rivera sealed the New York Yankees’ 90th win this season, 3-2 over the Seattle Mariners, with his 41 save in 2011 and more importantly, number 600 of his career, on his way to become the all time saves leader, passing Trevor Hoffman.

  • A Grand Slam Record (A’s vs Yankees)

The Boston Red Sox might lead the AL East, might be topping most power raknings around the web, but after the New York Yankees became the first team in MLB history to hit three Grand Slam home runs in a single game, beating the Oakland Athletics 22-9, well, you gotta be a bit intimidated. And Alex Rodriguez is back, altought still in trouble with the league.

  • 600 Home Runs Club

Jim Thome became the eighth player in MLB history to hit 600 home runs – knocking two out of the park to opposite field for the Twins in their 9-6 win over the Detroit Tigers. In honor of his achievement, the first to reach 600 since Alex Rodriguez did just over a year ago, here are all the players to reach and pass this milestone.

  • Dan Uggla Hitting Streak Ends at 33 (Cubs vs Braves)

Dan Uggla is the latest player in the DiMaggio chase who falls short. It seemed he had a few more games to this streak in him – Uggla was hotter during the last week than this whole season and hitting streak, boming home runs and finally getting some multiple hit games. Alas, the longest hitting streak in the Majors in five years is now over.

  • Dan Uggla’s Extends Hitting Streak to 33 (Braves vs Cubs)

Dan Uggla continued to be red hot, extending his hitting streak to 33 and adding a home run, his 27th of the year, a shared third sport in the NL, one less than Albert Pujols and Lance Berkman. The Atlanta Braves, however, weren’t fortunate enough to continue their winning streak, losing 8-4 to the Chicago Cubs after five straight wins.

  • Dan Uggla Gets to 32 With Style (Braves vs Cubs)

Dan Uggla’s hitting streak just gets better and better. It’s not that he’s reached 32. After getting 3 hits to cap off the sweep in the Marlins series, Uggla homered twice against Carlos Zambrano yesterday, reaching 26 this season, as the Atlanta Braves opened their series against the Chicago Cubs with a 10-4 win in Turner Field.

  • Dan Uggla and His Hitting Streak? 31 and Still Going (Braves vs Marlins)

Dan Uggla didn’t just get another hit to extend his hitting streak to 31, the longest in the Majors since Chase Utley’s 36 in 2006. He hit 3-5 with 2 RBIs as the Atlanta Braves beat the Florida Marlins 6-2, completing a series sweep in Miami, improving to 69-49 and keeping their firm grip of the Wild Card spot in the NL.

  • Dan Uggla’s Hitting Streak Reaches 30 (Braves vs Marlins)

Dan Uggla didn’t help his batting average or the rest of those numbers on another ugly hitting night. One for six, striking out twice, leaving 5 on base. Still, his hit in the fifth drew more cheers from the dugout than Martin Prado’s go ahead single in the 11th inning, giving the Braves (68-49) a 4-3 over the Florida Marlins, their second straight win against them before the series ends today.

  • 3000 Hits Club

Derek Jeter joined the 3000 hit list with grand style, hitting a home run, just like Wade Boggs did. In honor of his achivement, here are all the members of the 3000 club.
