    NBA Summer League, Day 3 – Marcus Smart & Dante Exum Outshine Rookies; Jahlil Okafor Not Bad Either

    The third day of the NBA Summer League meant spreading out to other locations. Games were still going on in Orlando, with Myles Turner, Mario Hezonja, Aaron Gordon, Mitch McGary, Justise Winslow and Stanley Johnson doing well as usual, while in Salt Lake City Jahlil Okafor had a nice debut, while Marcus Smart and Dante Exum stole the show from the rookies in the other game.

    Day 3 was another fantastic one, although a long affair, with a total of 13 goals in four matches, as Colombia and the Ivory Coast took the early lead in Group C with convincing wins over Greece and Japan, while in Group D, the supposed Group of Death, Costa Rica stunned Uruguay and later were joined by Italy who came out as the winners from the battle of giants against England.

    Day 3 of the 2014 World Cup will also be the longest one with four matches taking place. The biggest of course will be in Group D as England and Italy face each other, and Uruguay playing Costa Rica is also in that group. Group D opens and closes the day, first with Colombia playing against Greece and then the Ivory Coast against Japan.

    The Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose had a happy homecoming with a game-winning shot from the comeback point guard despite another sloppy display from him and his teammates on offense, handing the New York Knicks their first loss of the season, while the Los Angeles Clippers and Chris Paul rebounded from their season opening loss by running the Golden State Warriors off the court despite a huge shooting night from Stephen Curry.

    Once again, the pool brought us the most interesting stories with Yannick Angel of France continuing to dominate in the 200 meters freestyle, blowing everyone out of the water and leaving Ryan Lochte without a medal, while 15 year old Ruta Meilutyte of Lithuania became the youngest gold medalist in the pool. China (still leading the medal table) dominated diving and Gymnastics as always while North Korean men continue to dominate weightlifting.
