    A couple of firsts for both Duke and North Carolina on the same day, as the Blue Devils were not included in the AP Top 25 rankings for the first time since the preseason rankings of the 2007-2008 season, while the Tar Heels, losing 71-65 at Louisville, were beaten for the first time this season in ACC play.

    The College Football season is over with Alabama as national champions, which gives them the number one spot on the final rankings, followed by runners-up Clemson at number two, Rose Bowl champions Stanford at number three and Ohio State, probably the second best team in the country at least, settling for the Fiesta Bowl and the number four spot. Navy and Western Kentucky make rare appearances in the AP Top 25, and the same goes for Houston and Iowa (despite the loss), finishing the season in the top 10.

Brice Johnson made some history for North Carolina against Florida State, Virginia were stunned by Virginia Tech and West Virginia had a big second half in a tough win over TCU on the road.

    Another Saturday of college basketball action narrowed down the field of undefeated teams, as Iowa State lost to Northern Iowa and Purdue lost a big ranked battle with Butler, although Duke and Kentucky losing for a second time this season probably grabbed more attention, as usual. SMU, Oklahoma, Xavier, Michigan State and South Carolina are the remaining undefeated teams.
