A large population in a city or a metro area doesn’t necessarily mean you get to have a team in the NBA, NHL, MLB or NFL. For example, places like Austin in Texas, quite close to one million people, have to settle for the Texas Longhorns in College Sports instead of a serious pro-team, although I’m not sure the people there see it that way.

Brazil beat the United States 3-2 in the Confederations Cup final after the US lead 2-0 at half time with Dempsey and Donovan the scores. Luis Fabiano with a brace and Lucio with the winner 6 minutes from time scored for Brazil who won the Confederations Cup for the third time.

Brazil are the second team to score three against the US after Italy did it a few days ago. Felipe Melo, Robinho and Maicon scored for Brazil in this easy victory, as the Americans finished the game with 10 men after Kljestan was sent off in the second half.
