But it hasn’t been the best of summers for the England international altogether.

You expect an experienced and pretty productive striker like Vedad Ibisevic to score from the penalty spot with two minutes left in the match. You expect him to easily score off the rebound with nothing but the net standing in front of him. Instead, the Bosnian missed twice, giving Wolfsburg a change to beat Stuttgart 0-1 in dramatic fashion with a 90th minute goal.

The financial situation in Germany is pretty good, meaning that every team in the Bundesliga spent quite a few Euros on bringing in new talent, although mostly from within Germany. Most notably, obviously, were Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, probably up for another two horse title race in the 2012-2013 season.

Dan Carter Almost on His Own (All Blacks vs Wallabies)
The Bledisloe Cup was retained once again by the All Blacks, keeping Australia scoreless in a test match between these two rivals for the first time since 1962, as Dan Carer provided 16 of the 22 points in Auckland, running all over the clueless Wallabies 22-0 for a second straight win in the 2012 Rugby Championship.

Italian Serie A 2012-2013 Summer Signings
Just like in most of Europe, the recession and the new FIFA financial fair play regulations beginning in 2013 have really cut expenditures to a minimum. Milan, Inter and Lazio hardly spent a Euro on new transfers, with only the champions Juventus making a big splash in the transfer market in order to keep their Serie A title in 2012-2013 as well.
