NFL Rumors – Kansas City Chiefs Want to Draft Geno Smith
No one thought that a quarterback is going to be a high pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but Geno Smith has his stock rising high, especially with the Kansas City Chiefs, who have the first pick in a month or so. While they have already handled their quarterback situation via trade, they are very interested in adding Smith to the mix; just unsure about doing it with the number one overall pick.

NFL Rumors – Marcus Lattimore Will be Picked in the Draft
Despite injuries that took care of his ACL, LCL and PCL, the former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is impressing NFL scouts at the Gamecocks’ pro day. While he won’t be quite ready to contribute when the 2013 NFL season begins, it seems some team with a little bit of patience will be willing to take a chance on the running back.

Available Cap Space of NFL Teams After Free Agency
After most of the teams have completed their free agency signings, or at least the expensive ones, what’s left is picking up small pieces for minor roles, mostly and setting as much as possible left for the NFL draft. As it just happens, the Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cleveland Browns are in the best shape at the moment, while the Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers and the St. Louis Rams can’t afford another player.

The Washington Redskins are looking for someone to improve their pass-defense after letting go of the very disappointing DeAngelo Hall recently, and while they have addressed the depth issue at the position, they’re looking for a reliable starter to add to the mix, which seems to be Antoine Winfield from the Minnesota Vikings.

It seems that a lot of teams are interested at this stage of free agency in corners and safeties, two positions Michael Huff, departing the Oakland Raiders, can fill very well. His first choice for new team are the Dallas Cowboys, but they aren’t alone in the chase after the 7 year veteran, as the Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens are also in the race.

It’s about a month since the Philadelphia Eagles released their too expensive cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, and despite all the interest and visits with the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers, he’s still without a contract for next season, as his exact role with both teams, not to mention the money he’ll be paid, is still up in the air.

NFL Rumors – Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles & Pittsburgh Steelers Interested in Victor Butler
After four years in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, Victor Butler is looking for a team that will give him more than the odd snap here and there, showing quite often that with the right amount of playing time he can be quite a force at linebacker, so far picking up visit slips from the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles and obviously, the Cleveland Browns.

NFL Rumors – Cleveland Browns Still Looking for a Cornerback
One of the more active teams in this free agency market have been the Cleveland Browns, signing eight players so far, but they’re still not done. Their biggest need at the moment seems to be finding a starting cornerback, which seemed to be Brent Grimes for a while, but they might be forced to turn in another direction – possibly Nnamdi Asomugha, Antoine Winfield or maybe even DeAngelo Hall.
