La Liga – Week 1 Results & Table
Nothing new on the first week of the Spanish La Liga, as Barcelona and Lionel Messi comfortably beat Elche, Real Madrid struggled but won with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring against Cordoba and Atletico Madrid found life difficult without Diego Simeone, drawing without any goals against Rayo Vallecano.

Premier League – Week 2 Results & Table
Six matches were played to open the second weekend of Premier League football, highlighted by Chelsea beating Leicester to remain on top of the table, joined by Swansea, winning against Burnley, to be perfect after two matches. Arsenal managed to climb out of a two-goal hole at Goodison Park, drawing with Everton in a fantastic match.

Premier League – Week 1 Results & Table
Not too many goals, but plenty of interesting results, led by Swansea upsetting Manchester United at the Old Trafford to open the Premier League season, while Arsenal enjoyed a 90th minute goal from Aaron Ramsey to come away with a opening weekend win. The same scenario was at place for their bitter rivals Tottenham, also winning in injury time with Eric Dier being the hero.

2014 World Cup – Quarterfinals Day 2 Results
The 2014 World Cup quarterfinals are over, with Argentina (after beating Belgium 1-0) and the Netherlands (winning a penalty shootout against Costa Rica) setting up a very interesting semifinal, without any underdogs left in the tournament.

2014 World Cup – Round of 16 Results & Quarterfinals Teams
All eight teams that won their groups also made it into the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup, with four Europeans (Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium), three South Americans (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia) and one team from Central America, Costa Rica.

2014 World Cup – Day 15 Results & Table
The group stage ended as Germany beat the United States with both teams making it out of Group G, leaving Portugal and Ghana behind, while Belgium beat South Korea to finish with a perfect record and a draw between Algeria and Russia lifted the North African team into the round of 16 for the first time.

2014 World Cup – Day 14 Results & Table
The two big stars of the day were Lionel Messi and Xherdan Shaqiri, combining to score five goals, as Argentina set themselves up for a meeting with Switzerland, as the two teams beat Nigeria and Honduras. The other qualifiers from groups E and F are France (who drew with Ecuador), meeting Nigeria next in the World Cup’s round of 16.

2014 World Cup – Groups C & D Results & Table
Two more matches in the round of 16 have been decided, as Uruguay beat Italy thanks to a Diego Godin goal, a red card to Claudio Marchisio and Luis Suarez biting and getting away with it. Costa Rica are through from the first place after a goalless draw with England, waiting for Greece, dramatically beating the Ivory Coast with a 90th minute penalty. Colobmia finish the group stage perfectly with a win over Japan and a hat trick for Jackson Martinez.

2014 World Cup – Day 12 Results & Table
While Group B was matches for garbage time, Group A provided two excellent matches in day 12 of the World Cup as Brazil beat Cameroon and Mexico ran over Croatia to qualify from the group, while the Netherlands beat Chile to finish first in the group ahead of the South American team, while Spain won against Australia to leave the tournament with a slightly less bitter taste.

2014 World Cup – Day 11 Results & Table
A day that started badly but day 11 in the 2014 World Cup will be remembered for plenty of excellent football. Belgium beat Russia with a late goal to clinch a spot in the round of 16 while Algeria stunned everyone with four goals in a dominant win over South Korea to completely change Group H. The second batch of group stage matches was concluded with the dramatic 2-2 draw between the United States and Portugal, almost knocking Cristiano Ronaldo out of the World Cup.
