The Baltimore Orioles stop the losing with a six-home run performance against the Houston Astros, including two for both Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy. Things are heating up, as the Baltimore Orioles take the AL East lead back again without even playing, thanks to the New York Yankees beating the Toronto Blue Jays. The Kansas City Royals did the Cleveland Indians, who lost to the Boston Red Sox, a similar favor by beating the Detroit Tigers, while the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins improved their positioning as they hunt for a wild card spot.

The Baltimore Orioles needed a 9th inning, three-run homer by Jonathan Schoop to beat the San Francisco Giants and stay close to the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East, while the Washington Nationals dominated again vs weak opposition, and the Boston Red Sox roared against the poor Arizona Diamondbacks, with Mookie Betts hitting three home runs.

The Chicago Cubs actually lose for once, but they remain well ahead of the rest, while the New York Yankees get a pair of debutants to hit their first home runs, the Toronto Blue Jays regain the lead in the AL East, and the San Francisco Giants look impressive for once, holding on to their division lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The New York Mets get humiliated by the Arizona Diamondbacks and take a postseason hopes hit, the Houston Astros score 25 runs in two games against the Minnesota Twins, and the Baltimore Orioles regain some lost ground with a win over the Oakland A’s, including a Mark Trumbo home run. The New York Yankees sunk the Boston Red Sox even further, getting a farewell-from-Fenway RBI out of Alex Rodriguez.
